First care for mother and child
Having a baby is very special. For you, but also for other family members. In The Netherlands we have a unique maternity care system. Maternity care is to help and support you and your family.

A relaxed start

The realization that maternity care shares in your greatest happiness means that they do everything to make the maternity period unforgettable. The maternity assistants are there to give you a warm and relaxed start with your child.

Maternity nurse as an assistant
Our unique maternity care system makes it possible to give birth at home if you wish. During the delivery, at home or in the hospital, we are usually assisted by a maternity nurse. If you give birth she will be called by us.

Support
In the first eight days after birth, she is the support and refuge of all early fathers and mothers. She provides information, practical help and tips, does medical checks on you and your child and will do some household things.

Maternity visits by Fiere
In addition to the daily help of a maternity nurse, you will be visited a number of times by the midwife or nurse. The midwife who helped you during labour will always try to visit you. The midwife retains ultimate responsibility for mother and child up to 10 days after birth. Together with you and the maternity nurse we will see if everything goes well.
